Interactive light & sound art installation powered by AI
At the core of Instinkt 2.0 is an interaction between humans and technology, where presence is not just observed but actively felt. The installation reacts to its surroundings like a living system—aware, adaptive, and unpredictable.
The system operates through evolving stages: initially producing gentle light pulses and harmonious acoustics. Upon visitor proximity, illumination intensifies and sound modulates, subtly encouraging withdrawal. Reinforcement learning algorithms enable continuous behavioral adjustments responding to movement and spatial distance. This explores boundaries between attraction and avoidance, curiosity and self-preservation.
The latest version of Instinkt was first presented in Turin at Share Festival 2023. In collaboration with Italian colleagues, we reimagined the piece with a new design, refined lighting and sound dynamics, and an enhanced AI-driven learning process.
